In practical application, some people often can't distinguish the difference between CBB capacitor and MPK capacitor. This article will introduce the difference between CBB capacitor and MPK capacitor from the aspects of
encapsulation, application, electrical difference, efficiency and so on, so as to help you understand the difference between the two capacitors comprehensively and stereoscopically.

Outsourcing method:

The main difference between safety capacitor MPK X2 and CBB22 capacitor lies in the way of external sealing. The box structure of safety capacitor has better flame retardancy and sealing performance. However, CBB22 is basically of immersion type, so its sealing problem is well solved.
Some manufacturers of CBB22 series adopt aluminum film production, others use zinc aluminum film production. The electric properties of the capacitors produced by zinc aluminum film are similar to those of the safety regulations. It is characterized by strong DC withstand voltage capability. The characteristic of aluminum film structure products is that the loss is smaller than that of zinc aluminum film, and the high-frequency AC withstand voltage ability is strong, but the DC withstand voltage capacity is not as good as that of zinc aluminum film.

Usage and application:

CBB22 is lower than MKP in cost and can replace MKP in electrical performance.
The AC power calculation formula is as follows: P = U * U / XC = U * U / (1 / 2 π FC). U is the effective value of AC voltage, XC is the capacitance reactance, F is the frequency corresponding to AC voltage U, and C is the capacity. MKP capacitor is mainly used for EMI incoming line filtering, CBB capacitor is mainly used for oscillation, coupling, resistance capacitance buck circuit; CBB22 cost is lower than MKP, in terms of electrical performance, it can replace MKP under the condition of meeting actual DC withstand voltage.

Different naming methods:

MKP is a commonly used naming method for Taiwan series or Korean series capacitor plants. The corresponding name in China is CBB19, also known as safety code capacitor. The safety regulations are classified into X1, X2 and X3, among which X2 is the most conventional series and has been certified by many countries. The specification of CBB22 corresponding to Taiwan series or Korean series is MPP capacitor, which is a common type thin film capacitor, generally without safety certification.

Electrical difference:

The nominal rated voltage of MKP capacitor is 250 / 275VAC (X2), but its DC withstand voltage should reach 2000VDC 2s. However, CBB22 capacitor withstand voltage standard is only 1.6 times of rated voltage, and other static electrical parameters are the same.

Efficiency:

The efficiency is affected by the capacitor AC voltage, DC voltage, frequency of these three phase to determine. The concept of working power on capacitor and load power should not be confused, and one power can not be generalized. For the problem of frequency, although many signs are 50 ~ 60Hz, they can also be used in 20 ~ 60KHZ. Some lines are higher. The difference lies in the AC voltage under different frequency conditions, which mainly depends on the power borne by the capacitor not exceeding the standard value. If the power of the working capacitors (MKP61 and CBB22) is 3000W, the capacitance itself will be very hot, so the iron punched capacitors (MKP61 and CBB22) will be broken.

Insulation performance of capacitor:

Both MKP61 and CBB19 capacitors use polypropylene film dielectric, so the loss is small and the heat value is small. In the actual use of the circuit, the temperature rise should not exceed 6 ℃ (higher than the ambient temperature). In the actual test, the temperature rise of many circuit boards is within 4 ℃. If the temperature rise is higher than this condition, it indicates that the working power of the capacitor is too high, and both capacitors are easy to fail.

MKP61 capacitor has better thermal insulation and heat dissipation performance than CBB22 because of its flame retardant shell and potting material. If the capacitor is close to power transistor or other heating elements, MKP61 is safer to use, and CBB22 is more economical if it is far away from the heat source.
