Two capacitors with the same red appearance, CBB21 and CL21, what are the differences?
Difference in volume:
Due to the use of polyester film material, CL21 is smaller in volume and lighter in weight than CBB21.
In contrast, CBB21 is slightly larger in volume.
Difference in material:
CBB21 is a metallized polypropylene film capacitor, which is made by winding polypropylene film.
CL21 is a metallized polyester film capacitor, manufactured by winding polyester film.
Difference in stability:
CBB21 has better stability, and the range of its capacitance change with temperature is smaller than that of CL21.
CL21 has slightly poorer stability, especially in high-frequency situations, which is one of the reasons why CL21 cannot generally be used in high-frequency circuits.
