Capacitor is the simplest frequency division filter in car audio.

What is the function of WEET Audio capacitors? We have learned from high school that one of the functions of capacitors is to pass high frequency resistance to low frequency. 

That is to say, let the high-frequency signal go to the high-frequency loudspeaker, and filter out the low-frequency signal.

There are two benefits to this:

One is to reduce the distortion of loudspeaker output. Because the frequency response of the tweeter determines that it is only effective for high-frequency signals, but not for low-frequency signals.

 If there is no such filter capacitor, the low-frequency signals will be sent to the high-frequency speakers, and the high-frequency speakers will produce distortion to the low-frequency signals.

The second is power distribution. Generally speaking, the treble horn is smaller and can not bear more power, while most of the power of audio signal is at low frequency (the vibration amplitude is large at low frequency). 

Without this filter capacitor, all the signals go into the high pitched loudspeaker, which may not be able to bear and burn out.

The capacitors have numbers of kinds, such as MKP, MKS, MKT, MKC and PET, but MKP is the best,

The temperature intensity of MKP is higher than that of MKS, but its temperature stability is slightly worse than that of MKS. 

The biggest disadvantage of MKS is poor heat resistance, the limit is only 75 ℃, while MKP is 100 ℃.

WEET WMH Pure Aluminum Foil and Film Metallized Polypropylene Capacitors Reviews:

Sound: The physical size and shape of the WEET WMH is very similar to that of the Alumen Z-Cap 100VDC and Cicada Pure Aluminium Foil 100VDC. The WMH has a clear top end, more detailed than that of the Alumen Z-Cap but therefore less smooth. The Alumen's smoother nature makes it sound more intimate in a direct A-B comparison. Furthemore the Alumen had better depth, imaging and a slightly richer tone. Compared to the Cicada Pure Aluminium Foil the WMH Aluminum Foil and Metallized Polypropylene is far more open and clear, it just sounds less closed-in. If we go to a different breed of capacitors from the Mundorf stables the Supreme Classic sounds less mature than the WMH although it does have a similar amount of clarity in the top end. Vocal with the WMH have more richness making the Supreme Classic sound a little forward, a little more in your face. From Mundorf's EVO range, the Supreme EVO Oil also lacks a little overview compared to the WMH. But if we go up the Mundorf scale to the Supreme EVO Silver Gold Oil we get far better reverberation information and heaps more low level detail. This makes the Supreme EVO Silver Gold Oil keep the overview in complex orchestral music where the WMH tends to get muddled up. In direct comparison the WMH sounds rather bland.Maybe not quite at the same level as the higher grade Mundorfs but still a reasonably neutral and very usable capacitor.

Automotive audio capacitor refers to the electrolytic capacitor used in automotive audio auxiliary circuit. It is an auxiliary component for high-end car audio CD player and MD machine to improve audio restoration quality. There are three main functions in the circuit.

First of all, it can achieve the function of filtering. Because the capacitor has the characteristic that the voltage at both ends of the electrode can not change suddenly, the noise wave in the power supply is absorbed by the capacitor, so that it is suppressed before the power circuit enters the host and amplifier circuit of the car audio.

The second is the effect of signal coupling. The basic function of a capacitor in a circuit is to allow only alternating current to pass, not direct current to pass through.

The audio information signals flowing in the main unit and power amplifier of automobile audio are AC signals within a certain frequency range. Only when the AC signals form a loop can they be passed and amplified.

The function of capacitor is not to change the DC parameters of the circuit, so that the circuit AC path more smooth, so that the audio signal in the very weak signal can also be amplified, because the signal loss is smaller, the sound quality is higher.

What is an audio film capacitor? Acoustic audio film capacitors are made of metalized polypropylene film, which works as the dielectric / electrode winding. The lead is made of tinned copper clad steel wire, the side is wrapped with polyester tape, and the ends are filled with epoxy resin. The performance is very outstanding, the self-healing performance is outstanding, and the high frequency loss is low.

A film capacitor is a capacitor in which a plastic film such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, or polycarbonate is stacked from both ends and wound into a cylindrical shape. Its structure is the same as paper dielectric capacitor, and the medium is polyester or polystyrene. Polyester film capacitors have high dielectric constant, small volume, large capacity, and good stability. It is suitable for bypass electrical capacitance. Polystyrene film capacitors have low dielectric loss and high insulation resistance, but have large temperature coefficients and can be used in high-frequency circuits.

The high-frequency unit of the speaker is designed to improve high-frequency performance. Its voice coil and vibration part will be designed to be very lightweight, and the response to low-frequency signals is very low. 

Feeding a power signal with a too low frequency can easily cause damage to the vibrating parts and burn out of the voice coil . Therefore, multi-frequency speakers will use frequency dividers, so that signals of various frequency components and various frequency band units can play their due role.

The thin inner film capacitor added to the middle and high frequency unit is essentially a simple frequency divider. The thin film capacitor acts as a "high pass filter" that blocks low frequencies and allows only high frequencies to pass. 
The smaller the film capacitor capacity is, the higher the crossover point is, and the more obvious the effect of filtering low-frequency components.
This simple crossover is usually a two-way speaker, and its mid-low frequency unit feeds a full-band signal (but the mid-low frequency unit's response to high frequencies is also very low, so it will not play too much High-frequency sound capacity), the high-frequency unit feeds in a high-pass filtered high-frequency signal. Because part of the signal is filtered out, the speaker with the crossover will have a lower sound than the full-band signal, so the sound will be smaller after the audio film capacitor is added.
